French, Glazed Ceramic Rabbit Tureen

Description:

A rare glazed ceramic tureen for cooking rabbit. The top has a figure of a rabbit with a handle to lift the lid. The bottom is decorated with fleur de lis spaced along the sides. French chefs value these tureens. There are contests among collectors each year in France to determine who has the most prized tureen.
