Description:

A pair of exceptional French Régence Period, carved, beechwood fauteuils which would have originally been painted or gilded. They are presented today in a natural state with recent, partial removal of an ochre wax.

These chairs were covered in Aubusson tapestry. The tapestry has been recently removed, and the chairs are now covered in a reproduction, early 18th century, document silk from Tassinari and Chantel.
