Suite of Four French Louis XVI Period, Walnut Chairs Stamped, “J. CHENEAUX”

Description:

A suite of Four French Louis XVI period, walnut, lyre back chairs decorated with rosettes and leaves and stamped, “J. CHENEAUX”, by its maker, Jacques Cheneaux. Tapered fluted legs support the round leather seats.

Jacques Cheneaux, who became a master joiner on May 24, 1756, died in 1782. He set up shop in Paris at rue du Bout du Monde where he and his father were specialists in chair making.

The chairs may be sold in pairs.
